CHUCK: Hey everybody and welcome to Episode 73 of The Freelancers' Show! This week on our panel, we have Reuven Lerner.
REUVEN: Hello there!
CHUCK: Curtis McHale.
CURTIS: Good day!
CHUCK: Eric Davis.
ERIC: Hi!
CHUCK: I'm Charles Max Wood from DevChat.tv. This week we have a special guest and that is, David Allen!
DAVID: Hi folks!
CHUCK: Since you're new to the show, do you want to introduce yourself really quickly?
DAVID: I guess so! Sure! I'm David Allen, I'm the inventor/engineer of GTD Getting Things Done, wrote the book, do all kinds of stuff around the world, coaching, training, teaching, helping people clear their head and get more space to do meaningful things!
CHUCK: And that's what the book's all about, which is pretty awesome! I have to ask, how do you come up with a system like this?
DAVID: It was a string of 30 years of epiphanettes; there was no big wake up in the morning, "Tah-dah!" suddenly, the clouds part and the chair has come down, there wasn't none of that. It was really just kind of peace meal, there were some fairly significant events. I had a mentor who taught me the next action concept and doing record on bout of your head and how powerful those things were. Being [inaudible] a tribute that, I talked about them in the book, at least briefly.
I had several people and things along the way. And then at a certain point, these things started to be kind of bigger than some of the parts. As I say,
